Darragh J. Davis DarraghD@PETCO.com Vice President and General Counsel PETCO Law Department Darragh Davis is Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of PETCO, a national specialty retailer in the pet sector with over 900 locations and 20,000 employees. She oversees all legal matters for PETCO including its corporate, transactional and litigation matters. Darragh has over 25 years experience in both private practice and general counsel positions with emphasis in the technology, commercial construction, and retail sectors. Previously, Darragh held positions as VP and General Counsel for VISTA Information Technologies, Inc., a national IT professional services firm, VP and Chief Legal Counsel of Newbridge Networks, Inc., a multinational telecommunications equipment manufacturer, and as a member of the litigation and federal practice groups at Arent Fox, in Washington D.C. and Tysons Corner, VA. Darragh is a Fellow of the American Bar Association Foundation and a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Corporate Counsel (SD Chapter). In 2008, she received the Chapter’s In-House Attorney of the Year Award in recognition of outstanding professionalism and dedication to the in-house legal profession. Darragh has served on the Virginia State Bar Client Protection Fund Board and Corporate Counsel Section Board of Governors. She is a past Chair of the Virginia State Bar Construction and Public Contract Law Board of Governors and has also served as a faculty member for the VSB Professionalism Course. Darragh received her A.B. from Stanford University and J.D. from Boston University. She is a member of the D.C., VA, and MD Bars, and a registered in-house attorney in CA. She also regularly speaks to various bar groups on topics related to early case evaluation, professional and corporate ethics, and the business skills necessary for in-house counsel.
